In an age where digital transformation is reshaping industries worldwide, the tourism sector cannot afford to be left behind. Estonia is proactively responding to the need for efficient and automated processes by supporting tourism service providers on their digital journey.
The government has allocated 2 million euros to support the digitalization efforts through the "Turismisektori tarkvarade liitumis- ja liidestamistoetus," or the Tourism Software Integration and Interface Support Program. Funding will be available on a rolling basis until either the budget is exhausted or the application period concludes.
Financial Support Details:
Program Opens: November 22, 2023
Maximum Support: 20,000 EUR
Business Contribution: Minimum of 30% of total project cost
Eligibility: Legal entities, government agencies, and tourism-focused institutions
Conditions: Sales revenue of at least 30,000 euros from the last fiscal year, not having received over 200,000 euros in de minimis aid in the past three years.
The support can be used for digitalizing and automating workflow processes for tourism service providers, leading to increased efficiency and data quality, as well as the adoption of digital technologies.
All necessary information, including detailed application conditions and required materials, can be found on the official website dedicated to the program: Turismi tarkvara toetus.
Spotlight: HotelBuddy's Offer!
The program's eligible costs include the contracting, licensing, and implementation of new software solutions. It is a great support measure for all hotels that are ready to take their operations to the next level and start using online check-in and check-out, mobile keys, and other automation and digitalization tools.
As only one-time purchases of software licenses are supported (not monthly or recurring fees), we recommend applying for a 36-month license that falls under this requirement.
For example, for an 80-room hotel that acquires Hotelbuddy's Standard Package Licence for 3 years (which includes the mobile key feature), the total cost would be 25,800 euros, of which the hotel's own contribution would be only 7740 euros!
Want To Know More?
On October 27th, the program will host a presentation showcasing new software solutions suitable for tourism businesses. Various software providers, including Hotelbuddy, will introduce their offerings, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. The event will be recorded and made available for viewing afterward. Register for the event here.
We at HotelBuddy are delighted to see that the government continues to invest in the digital future of its tourism sector, so now the question is: Are you ready to transform your hotel operations with this latest initiative?
