We’re excited to share the latest updates and improvements to HotelBuddy!
Here’s what’s new:
Customize all guest e-mails:
Hotels can now preview and customize all e-mails that are sent to guests: change cover picture, modify text and add custom translations.
Email opt-out for guests:
Guest emails have now "Unsubscribe" option in the email footer, so guests can switch off all email notifications. Hotels can do the same by adding guest emails to "Email Blacklist".
Guest name change notification:
Hotels will now receive email notifications each time the main guest's name is updated.
Room number not shown before check-in:
Room numbers are removed from the "Your Room is Ready" email and pre-arrival dashboard. If pre-assigned rooms are changed before guests actually check in, guests will not be confused by seeing a different room number.
Document info customization:
Hotels can now make document info (non)obligatory according to guest’s citizenship. E.g. Latvian hotels can make a rule to "Skip document info" if citizenship is marked Latvia.
City tax:
Hotels can now charge city tax separately by enabling it under the "Payments" section. City tax can also be excluded for corporate guests with a new special "Skip City Tax".
New languages:
Lithuanian and Spanish have been added. The tone across all app and email texts has been modified for a more polite and professional tone ("You" form) in all languages.
TESA Smart Lock Integration:
Hotels who use Tesa Smart locks can now use HotelBuddy mobile key without additional hardware installations or costs.
Important for Booking.com Reservations:
To ensure guests receive online check-in invitations, please update your Messaging Security Settings in Booking.com’s extranet by adding the following to your allowed list:
Email: check-in@hotelbuddy.eu
Without these settings, links may be blocked for guests from Booking.com.
Special Development Requests and Bug Fixes:
Hotsoft PMS:
Underage guests details can now be saved even if phone number is not provided.
If a rate code has several payment options, HB does an additional check of folio status.
Changed text in app when new room category is not available.
HotelTime PMS:
Room status is now checked before guests gets a notification about their room being ready.
Notes are now included into HotelTime reservation push.
Reservation notes are now added to existing notes to prevent overwriting.
